A trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle wreck at the location. While the vehicle was flipping over, the driver and passenger were ejected.

The driver, identified as James Wyche, Jr., 31, of Wake Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Revonte Arrington, 32, of Franklinton, was transported to the hospital where he then died.

Family members were notified at the scene.

Authorities said that speed was a factor, but alcohol use has not been confirmed.
